Alecto Recruitment is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join a professional automotive team in Surrey. The role involves diagnostics, fault finding, servicing, repairs and inspections, with opportunities for ongoing training and career development.

Suitable candidates will have workshop experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and a UK driving licence; MOT Tester qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within an automotive workshop.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing vehicles.
• MOT Tester qualification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic and investigative work to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
• Complete vehicle servicing to manufacturer standards.
• Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance.
• Conduct full vehicle inspections and identify non-routine defects.
• Complete MOT testing where qualified.
• Carry out Electronic Vehicle Health Checks and Video Health Checks.
• Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Liaise with Service Advisors regarding vehicle repairs and progress.
• Discuss technical issues with customers when required.
• Obtain authorisation before carrying out additional work.
• Maintain high technical standards through regular training.
