Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician for a busy workshop in Swindon, Wiltshire. The role offers a competitive salary range andMonday‑to‑Friday hours with Saturday overtime on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• IMI/ NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong practical experience considered without formal qualifications.
• Prior experience working on vans and light commercial vehicles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, service and repair vans and light commercial vehicles.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship to client specifications.
• Accurately diagnose faults and report on vehicle condition, safety and performance.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Support Aftersales Manager and team in daily tasks.

Our client, one of the UK's leading independent van supermarkets operating since 2002, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their busy head office and workshop in Swindon. This opportunity offers excellent long‑term career prospects within a reputable company processing over 200 vehicles monthly.

• Competitive starting salary between £35,000 and £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Duties of the Vehicle Technician:

• Conduct fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on vehicles, primarily vans and light commercial vehicles
• Work to the standards specified by the client, ensuring high‑quality work
• Accurately diagnose faults and report on vehicle condition, safety, reliability, and performance
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
• Maintain a high standard of work in a busy environment
• Assist with vehicle inspections and testing as required
• Collaborate with team members and support the Aftersales Manager

Requirements of the Vehicle Technician:

• Ideally qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Individuals with strong practical experience and no formal qualifications will also be considered
• Prior experience working on vans and light commercial vehicles is advantageous but not essential
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Demonstrate a committed, hardworking attitude and team spirit
• Capable of producing high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment
