Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician for an immediate start in Leicester. This permanent, full-time role offers up to £52,000 per year (DOE) and a Monday to Friday schedule (7:00am - 4:00pm).

The role includes routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs in a modern workshop with a supportive team and long-term career stability.

Excellent workmanship and a positive attitude are essential, with flexibility on hours where possible.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance.
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Replace cambelts and timing components as required.
• Perform general mechanical repairs and inspections.
• Complete fleet inspections and vehicle health checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out efficient fault finding and problem-solving.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and related work where applicable.
• Repair brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain components.
• Undertake clutch replacements when required.
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs and maintenance
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable:

• Ford-trained or extensive experience working on Ford vehicles
• Ford manufacturer qualifications
• Experience working on light commercial vehicles
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled vehicle maintenance
• Replace cambelts and timing components
• Perform general mechanical repairs
• Complete fleet inspections and vehicle health checks
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
• Carry out efficient fault finding and problem-solving
• Complete MOT preparation work (MOT testing is not carried out in-house)
• Repair brakes, suspension, steering and drivetrain components
• Undertake clutch replacements where required
• Ensure all work is completed to a consistently high standard
• Follow all company health and safety procedures
• Work closely with fellow technicians and support apprentices where required
• Assist with breakdowns and urgent vehicle repairs when necessary
