Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire in Blaydon is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to maintain and repair our fleet, keeping vehicles safe and legally compliant for hire.

If you are Level 2 qualified with 3 years’ experience or a Level 3 Technician, we’d love to hear from you. We offer a comprehensive training program, a competitive salary, overtime premiums, and a broad range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 technician qualifications with relevant hands-on experience.
• At least 3 years of employment as a technician/mechanic.
• Ability to work 42.5 hours weekly with overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
• Carry out servicing and inspections on our fleet.
• Follow IMI training programs to upskill in hybrids, EVs, braking and electrics.

Weekly Hours

42.5 hours / Day Shifts Only. As and when required overtime is available and this is paid at time and half.

About you

As a Vehicle Technician you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles to ensure they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire. If you are Level 2 Qualified Technician with at least 3 years employment as a technician/mechanic or fully qualified Level 3 Technician / Mechanic, we would love to hear from you.

About our training

We have our own internal IMI accredited training department, where we can upskill you on such things as Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, Tail lift, braking systems, electrics etc:

For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so we can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset.
