Job summary

Just Motor Group Preston is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Vehicle Sales Advisor Apprentice. The apprenticeship combines paid employment with nationally recognised Level 2 training, under experienced sales professionals, to gain skills in selling vehicles and delivering excellent customer service.

The program lasts 12-14 months plus 12 weeks EPA; you will work around 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the usual dealership environment and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 or older and willing to undertake Level 2 apprenticeship.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and demonstrate vehicles to meet needs and budget.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions and sales activity.
• Follow up with leads via phone, email and other channels to close sales.

Job description

• Learn about the dealership's vehicle inventory, including features, specifications, pricing, and financing options
• Assist customers in identifying their vehicle needs, preferences, and budget requirements
• Conduct test drives to demonstrate vehicle features and benefits, answering questions professionally
• Present and demonstrate vehicle options to customers in a clear and persuasive manner
• Collaborate with sales managers to negotiate pricing, terms, and financing arrangements
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and inventory using CRM systems
• Follow up with prospective customers via phone, email, and other channels to nurture leads and close sales
• Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and competitor offerings
• Attend sales training sessions and workshops to enhance selling skills, product knowledge, and customer service
• Uphold company policies and ethical standards in all sales activities

Working Week

• 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday
• Normal working hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm, though hours may vary depending on dealership requirements

Training & Time Away From Home

• Apprentices are employed directly by employing dealership
• Training includes week-long block release, requiring travel and overnight stays away from home at The Performance Academy Coventry

• Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship (IMI)
• Duration: 12-14 months + 12 weeks for End Point Assessment (EPA)
• Covers workplace competence, technical knowledge, and OTJ learning
• Completion provides a nationally recognised qualification and a clear pathway into automotive sales careers, Aged 16+
• GCSE (or equivalent) grade A-C / 9-4 in Maths and English ( Predicted grades are accepted, provided the final results meet the required standards)
• Strong interest in automotive sales and customer service
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced colleagues
• Basic IT skills for CRM and documentation purposes
• Working towards or holding a valid driving licence

Pay is set by the employing Just Motor Group dealership.
