Job summary

BCA Corby is seeking a dedicated Vehicle Prepper / Masker to join our busy bodyshop team. You will prepare vehicles for paint, mask and prime panels, and ensure finished panels meet high standards for customers.

Working Monday to Friday, 6:00-15:00, you must hold a full UK driving licence (2+ years) and have at least 1 year in a similar bodyshop role. You will work both independently and with colleagues, contributing to training where needed.

Qualifications

• Previous bodyshop experience, minimum 1 year.
• Full UK Driving Licence held for at least 2 years.
• Willing to support junior cosmetic technicians and share expertise.
• Passion for the motor industry and pride in high standards of work.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on vehicles.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Preparing vehicles for paint – masking, priming, sanding and cleaning panels.
• Ensuring there are no defects on the prepared panels.
• Supporting other workshop areas when needed.
• Assisting with training of junior team members.

Main purpose of the role

Within this role, you will be working as a part of an experienced bodyshop team, ensuring our vehicles are finished to the highest standard for our customers, under the support and guidance of the supervisor and Bodyshop Manager.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Preparing vehicles for paint – This will include masking, priming, sanding, andcleaning panels.


• Ensuring that there are no defects on the prepared panels.


• Supporting other areas of the workshop where needed.


• Assisting with the training of junior members of the team.

To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you:

• Previous experience in a similar role in a Bodyshop. Minimum 1 year.


• Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 2 years.


• Willing to support junior cosmetic technicians and offer support/expertise when needed.


• You will be passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in your work, to the highest standards of work set by customers.


• You will need to work independently and as part of a team on vehicles and have experience to make your own decisions when required.


• Excellent attention to detail.
