Job summary

Jaguar TCS Racing offers a 12-month student placement within the Vehicle Performance group. Work alongside experienced engineers and graduates to learn and develop in a fast-paced Formula E environment, contributing to software tools for race strategy and energy management.

You will gain exposure to data analysis, simulation, and production-quality coding practices while contributing to pre- and post-event analyses and real-time decision making with the Strategy & Software team.

Qualifications

• Working towards a STEM degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics).
• Basic experience with high level programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, C# and/or VBA is required.
• Experience with data analysis, data visualization, simulation tools or software development would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-house software tools to optimise race strategy and energy management in real-time using timing and car data.
• Analyse car, simulation and timing data to inform strategic decisions.
• Contribute to pre- and post-event analysis of race strategy and competitor performance.
• Ensure software is robust for production environments with high attention to detail.
• Use source control and collaboration tools to maintain code with modern best practices.
• Maintain and improve data pipelines to automate processes and analysis.
• Participate in the Ops Room during race weekends to support the team at the track; may require unsociable hours.
