Job summary

National Express Limited in Walsall is hiring a Mechanical Support to join our Engineering team. You will assist with vehicle repairs, support garage planning and ensure maintenance tasks are carried out to manufacturer and company standards.

You should have a mechanical background, be comfortable working shifts Monday to Friday 07:00–15:30, and hold a manual driving licence; PCV is ideal. We value safety and proactive hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum mechanical experience with vehicle repairs.
• Manual driving licence required; PCV licence preferred.
• Strong attention to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage service duties through bus allocations, changeovers and garage plans
• Carry out routine services including oil changes to standards
• Conduct wheel changes and repair minor defects as needed
• Ensure documentation is maintained according to procedures
• Maintain safety, health, environment and fire regulations.

National Express have a great opportunity to join our Engineering team at Walsall as a Mechanical Support. Shift Pattern for this role is Monday - Friday 0700 - 1530.

As a fundamental member of the team your role will involve assisting with the repair of vehicles, ensuring regulations and company standards are continuously met.

You will have a mechanical interest, with previous experience, a manual cardriving licence (PCV Ideal), the drive to succeed and a passion to get stuck in.

What you'll do...

• Manage service duties through bus allocations, changeovers and garage plans
• Carry out routine services including oil changes quickly and efficiently to manufacturer’s and specialist standards
• Conduct road wheel change
• Repair minor defects as needed
• Ensure all documentation is maintained according to Company procedures
• Maintain good housekeeping and conform to Safety, Health, Environment and Fire Regulations
