Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd in Gateshead is seeking a Vehicle Inspector to join our client’s engineering team, ensuring vehicle safety compliance and high service output.

You will inspect HGVs/PSVs, report defects, support MOT preparation, and maintain inspection records in a busy workshop.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs (or equivalent) OR IRTEC / FTA qualification.
• Full UK car driving licence
• Strong knowledge of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance

Responsibilities

• Carrying out detailed vehicle inspections on HGVs / PSVs
• Identifying defects and reporting findings accurately
• Ensuring vehicles meet safety, legal, and compliance standards
• Supporting MOT preparation and presentation
• Maintaining inspection records and documentation
• Working effectively within a busy workshop environment

Position: Vehicle Inspector

Salary: £37,760 - £42,000 per annum

Overtime: Available & Optional

Location: Gateshead

We are currently looking for a Vehicle Inspector / HGV Inspector / PSV Inspector to join our client's dedicated Engineering team, supporting their commitment to providing a high standard of service output and vehicle safety compliance.

Vehicle Inspector Required Qualifications:
