Job summary

1st Central is seeking four Motor Vehicle Image Engineers to join the Engineering team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester. You will engineer and authorise vehicle repairs and produce inspection reports, making decisions on total loss settlements.

Key requirements include extensive vehicle make up knowledge, experience with automotive estimate systems, strong customer service, and the ability to explain complex technical information to customers and third parties.

Qualifications

• Experience in the repair industry with mechanical/body knowledge.
• Ability to interpret client requirements and resolve complex issues.
• Strong communication with customers, repairers and third parties.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance practices.
• Proactive, detail oriented and able to work to KPI/SLA targets.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and authorise vehicle repair costs following manufacturer methods.
• Produce inspection reports and make total loss decisions with supplementary estimates.
• Liaise with customers to settle claims and ensure market position accuracy.
• Explain complex decisions clearly to Policyholders and third parties.
• Identify fraudulent activity and support total loss valuation handlers.
• Engage third parties to drive efficiency and expedite settlements.
