Job summary

GMP Recruitment Agency Limited partnered with a leading UK manufacturer in Kidderminster is seeking a Vehicle Fitter to join the production team. You will build specialist refuse and recycling vehicles, interpreting engineering drawings, assembling components, and wiring hydraulic/electrical systems.

The role involves working to production schedules, using power tools, MIG welding when required, and collaborating with subcontractors to ensure quality builds.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience in a production or workshop setting.
• Experience using power tools in a production environment.
• Good understanding of hydraulics and vehicle electrics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• MIG welding experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build specialist refuse and recycling collection vehicles to a high standard.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow build packs.
• Use power tools and perform mechanical assembly work.
• Install hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Complete documentation and support production schedules and deadlines.
• Work with subcontractors to progress builds smoothly.
• Assist with inspections, testing and final preparation.
