Job summary

SourceCo Recruitment are seeking Mechanical Fitters to join a growing manufacturing business in Kidderminster. The role covers manufacture, assembly and preparation of specialist refuse and recycling collection vehicles, working with the Production Manager to meet customer specs and timescales.

You will read engineering drawings, use power tools, and handle hydraulics and basic electrics, contributing to efficient builds and quality outcomes on site.

• Good mechanical knowledge and practical fitting skills.
• Experience using power tools.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and electrics.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Ability to work to deadlines and customer specifications.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willing attitude to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager and Foreman in manufacturing and development of refuse collection vehicles.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and build packs.
• Use a range of power tools and workshop equipment.
• Work with hydraulics and basic electrics.
• Work to build schedules and production deadlines.
• Identify and raise issues during the build process.
• Record changes or modifications during builds.
• Capture information to help improve and standardise future builds.
• Support on-site subcontractors and equipment providers.
• Complete relevant paperwork and build documentation.
• Assist with vehicle inspections and testing.
