Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking an experienced Vehicle Fitter to join our client’s busy manufacturing facility near Peterborough. This hands-on role covers building electric vehicles, mechanical fitting, and electrical system work, with a focus on maintaining quality and meeting production targets.

The ideal candidate has a background in automotive or similar engineering environments, strong fitting skills, and a clean driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' mechanical engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with automotive 12V and/or 48V electrical circuits.
• Experience of electrical fault finding, repair and general maintenance.
• Background within automotive, vehicle maintenance, manufacturing, aviation, power generation or similar engineering environment.
• Good practical mechanical fitting skills.
• The ability to understand and communicate technical issues clearly.
• A flexible approach and the ability to prioritise work in a changing production environment.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A full clean driving licence.
• Welding experience would be an advantage.

Vehicle Fitter - Electric Vehicles

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Fitter to join their busy manufacturing facility near Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background combined with automotive electrical experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. You'll be involved in both the manufacture of new electric vehicles and the maintenance and repair of an established rental fleet. With vehicles supplied into industries ranging from airports and automotive manufacturing to hospitals, power stations and specialist industrial environments, no two days are necessarily the same. Above all, we're looking for someone with a positive "can-do" attitude who is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved.

The Role

• Building electric vehicles in accordance with job cards and production specifications

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 2 years' mechanical engineering experience

• A background within automotive, vehicle maintenance, manufacturing, aviation, power generation or a similar engineering environment

• Your own standard hand tools appropriate to the tradeWelding experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. Specialist air tools required for the position will be provided.
