Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting a Vehicle Fitter/Vehicle Technician for our site near Matlock, Derbyshire. You will inspect, service and repair a range of vehicles and plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime and safe operation.

The role offers a Monday–Friday early shift (6:00am–2:00pm) on a stable, permanent basis with opportunities to work on front loaders, forklift trucks and other plant machinery. Experience in similar roles is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role (Vehicle Technician / HGV Technician / Plant Technician / Mechanical Fitter background)
• Hands-on experience carrying out reactive repairs and planned servicing/maintenance in a workshop environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair ability
• Ability to carry out routine servicing and preventative checks (including greasing and antifreeze checks)
• Able to order parts when required and maintain stock/parts levels
• Confident keeping accurate records of repairs and servicing
• Committed to working safely and following all H&S / environmental procedures

Job Title: Vehicle Fitter (Vehicle Technician)

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire

Salary: £44,000 (OTE £50,000+)

Shift: Monday – Friday (Early Shift) 6:00am – 2:00pm

Job Role of the Vehicle Fitter

A great opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Fitter / Vehicle Technician to join a busy industrial site, working as part of a team within a well-equipped workshop environment. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a range of vehicles and site equipment to ensure they are safe, reliable and ready to return to operation with minimal downtime. This role will involve maintenance and repair of: front loaders, forklift trucks and other plant machinery.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Vehicle Fitter

• Experience in a similar role (Vehicle Technician / HGV Technician / Plant Technician / Mechanical Fitter background considered).
• Hands‑on experience carrying out reactive repairs and planned servicing/maintenance in a workshop environment.
