Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd are recruiting a Vehicle Fitter/Technician for an established industrial site in Matlock, Derbyshire. You will inspect, service and repair vehicles and site equipment to ensure safe operation and minimal downtime.

The role covers front loaders, forklift trucks and other plant machinery, with a Monday–Friday early shift (6:00am–2:00pm). You will work in a well-equipped workshop and be part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar vehicle/plant technician role.
• Hands-on ability with reactive repairs and planned servicing in a workshop.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Ability to perform routine servicing and preventative checks.
• Capable of ordering parts and maintaining stock levels.
• Competent in keeping accurate repair records and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and repair a range of vehicles and plant equipment to ensure safety and uptime.
• Maintain and repair front loaders, forklift trucks and other machinery in a busy workshop.

Vehicle Fitter (Vehicle Technician)

Location: Matlock, Derbyshire

Salary: £44,000 (OTE £50,000+)

Shift: Monday – Friday (Early Shift) 6:00am – 2:00pm

Job Role

A great opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Fitter / Vehicle Technician to join a busy industrial site, working as part of a team within a well‑equipped workshop environment.

You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a range of vehicles and site equipment to ensure they are safe, reliable and ready to return to operation with minimal downtime.

This role will involve maintenance and repair of: front loaders, forklift trucks and other plant machinery.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements

• Experience in a similar role (Vehicle Technician / HGV Technician / Plant Technician / Mechanical Fitter background considered).
• Hands‑on experience carrying out reactive repairs and planned servicing/maintenance in a workshop environment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair ability.
• Ability to carry out routine servicing and preventative checks (including greasing and antifreeze checks).
• Able to order parts when required and maintain stock/parts levels.
• Confident keeping accurate records of repairs and servicing.
• Committed to working safely and following all H&S / environmental procedures.
