First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business that is looking to recruit multiple Vehicle Electricians on a permanent basis due to growth, based at their Bovington depot.

The Vehicle Electrician position is specialized. It offers the opportunity to work on military vehicles and expand your mechanical knowledge, along with excellent career advancement prospects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work to the required standards and specifications as detailed on the job card, in accordance with customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes, and technical publications.
  • Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and related mechanical/electrical equipment based on skills and competency.
  • Accurately record all job transactions and complete work in line with current ERP processes, submitting time and completed work daily to the supervisor.
  • Create job cards and request materials where ERP (Baan) training has been completed.
  • Complete vehicle and equipment documentation, test certificates, and reports to current standards.
  • Use store and equipment issued for the correct purpose; return unused or faulty materials to the section/department as soon as identified.
  • Maintain COSHH, Health & Safety, and other statutory regulations.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Follow policies for the proper disposal of hazardous and waste products.
  • Maintain personal tools and workshop equipment in good condition; report faults to the supervisor.
  • Notify the supervisor of any issues affecting repairs or additional work not detailed on the job card.
  • Consult with the supervisor regarding any problems affecting quality or health & safety.
  • Support internal trade boundaries and Mobile Support Teams (MST) voluntarily when needed.
  • Perform other minor duties as assigned by management, appropriate to grade and post.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed recognized military or civilian training in the relevant trade or an accredited apprenticeship.
  • Hold at least one of the following academic qualifications:
  • City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 & 3 in the relevant trade discipline
  • ONC in the relevant trade discipline
  • NVQ Level 3 in the relevant trade discipline

Position Details:

  • Reference: MB575: Vehicle Electrician
  • Location: Bovington
  • Salary: £30,371 per annum (OTE £33k – £40k)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 37 hours/week plus optional overtime on Friday and Saturday, with flexible hours between 6am and 6pm
