Job summary

Alexander Dennis Limited’s Scarborough production site is seeking a Vehicle Builder to fit and assemble components to bus and coach body structures in line with design and customer specifications.

You will work both independently and as part of a close-knit team to deliver vehicles safely, efficiently and on time, using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Confident using a range of hand and power tools.
• Able to work from instructions, specifications and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fit and assemble components to bus and coach body structures as per design and customer specifications.
• Work within the Scarborough production facility to ensure vehicles are built safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders, Engineering, Quality and colleagues to deliver vehicles on time and to specification.

What You’ll Do

As a Vehicle Builder, you’ll be responsible for fitting and assembling components to bus and coach body structures in line with design and customer specifications. Working within the Scarborough production facility, you’ll ensure vehicles are built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a close‑knit production team, collaborating with Team Leaders, Engineering, Quality and fellow colleagues to deliver vehicles on time and to specification.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for practical, hands‑on individuals who take pride in quality workmanship and safe working practices. You’ll have experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment and be confident using a range of hand and power tools.

You’ll be comfortable working from instructions, specifications and engineering drawings, able to manage your own tasks with minimum supervision, and committed to maintaining a safe, tidy working environment at all times.

Bonus if you have:

• A time‑served apprenticeship in vehicle assembly
• A certificate of apprenticeship in a craft or allied trade
• A minimum NVQ Level 2 in a relevant craft or engineering discipline
