Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Vehicle Body Builder in Wolverhampton to build and assemble commercial vehicle bodies from engineering drawings. You will fabricate steel components, fit hydraulic systems and install trailer equipment on a production line.

Candidates should have MIG welding experience, the ability to read drawings, and proficiency with hand and power tools. This is a permanent, on-site role with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• MIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is advantageous.
• Basic auto-electrical wiring, soldering and fault finding beneficial.
• Works well independently and in teams.

Vehicle Body Builder

Mon- Thurs 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Fri 7:00 AM - 12.00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Building and assembling commercial vehicle bodies and associated equipment.
• Working from engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and written specifications.
• Fabrication and fitting of steel components and assemblies.
• Using a range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
• Semi-skilled MIG welding and general fabrication duties.
• Installation and fitting of hydraulic components and mechanical systems.
• Assembly and fitting of trailer and vehicle body equipment.
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
• Working as part of a production team to meet manufacturing deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within commercial vehicle body building, manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy engineering.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Experience using power tools and hand tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Semi-skilled welding experience (MIG preferred).
• Fabrication and assembly experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous.
• Basic auto-electrical skills such as wiring, soldering, and fault finding would be beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
