Job summary

A leading development service provider in Greater London is seeking a Vehicle Architecture Development Engineer. The role requires substantial project management skills and the ability to resolve complex engineering issues. You will work collaboratively to establish vehicle layouts and contribute throughout the engineering programme. Candidates should hold a degree in engineering and have CAD experience. This position is office-based, with one optional remote day per week.

We create technological solutions at any stage of the product development process, focusing on digitalization, e‑mobility and autonomous systems for automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering sectors. With around 14,000 employees at more than 50 sites worldwide, we support various customers in automotive electrical and electronics systems development.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and deliver the fundamental layout of vehicles including dimensions, mass balance, occupant positions and accommodation.
  • Plan the mechanical arrangement ensuring geometrical compatibility.
  • Be part of the first engineering team involved in the programme and continue to contribute to subsequent stages (Job#1 and beyond).
Qualifications
  • Excellent project and people management skills, with tenacity in resolving issues.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills; ability to interface with senior management.
  • Ability to resolve complex, multi‑dimensional problems and present solutions with clarity.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of FEDE, PLM, CAE, CAD, Auros – E2KS and Digital Buck tools; CATIA abilities.
Experience
  • Delivery of vehicle programmes.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle variants/configurations.
Education
  • Degree in an engineering discipline.
Employment Details
  • Position confirmed inside IR35.
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • 5 days in office with an optional 1 day remote working (in office days Mon–Thu).
