Job summary

National Express in Coventry is seeking a Vehicle Allocator to manage the allocation of buses to running boards and ensure correct vehicles are ready for public service. This full-time role requires a PCV license and strong IT skills.

The successful candidate will work Sunday to Thursday, 23:00–07:00, liaising between Operations and Engineering to optimise vehicle changeovers and minimise downtime. Training and a supportive team await.

Qualifications

• Full PCV license; driving on the road required.
• Knowledge of the bus industry is an advantage.
• Good general standard of education.
• Self-motivated; able to work without supervision.
• Computer literate.
• Able to work towards and meet strict deadlines.

National Express are looking to recruit a Vehicle Allocator, based at our Coventry Garage on a full time basis. The successful candidate will complete the allocation of correct Buses to Running Boards prior to public service.

Shift pattern is Sunday - Thursday 23:00 - 07:00

What you'll do:

• Full Knowledge of Vehicle types held at the garage
• Recognise the Importance of `Right bus – Right Route'
• Communication between Operations and Engineering departments essential
• Act as a liaison between Operations and Engineering to ensure the correct buses are allocated to
• Liaise with engineering Supervisor regarding buses under repair
• Assist in vehicle changeovers
• Reduce Engineering and Operations lost mileage where possible

What you'll need:

• Full PCV license - as driving on the road will be required
• Knowledge of the bus Industry an advantage
• Good general standard of EducationSelf motivated and able to work without supervision
• Be computer literate
• Have a problem solving attitude
• Be able to work towards and meet strict deadlines
