Job summary

Outcomes First Group in Suffolk seeks a Vehicle Technician Trainer at Wetheringsett Manor to bring practical automotive learning to life. You will help pupils develop hands-on skills, confidence and independence through vehicle maintenance and mechanics-based learning.

The role welcomes industry experience and values practical knowledge over teaching background; QTS is desirable but not essential. Start November 2026; 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday; permanent contract.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a Vehicle Technician Trainer to bring practical automotive learning to life at Wetheringsett Manor. You’ll help young people develop hands on skills, confidence and independence through engaging vehicle maintenance and mechanics based learning.

You don’t necessarily need to come from a traditional teaching background. Industry experience is warmly welcomed and QTS is desirable rather than essential. What matters is your practical knowledge, your ability to engage young people and your enthusiasm for helping them discover skills they can use in the future.

From the Workshop to the Classroom

This is about taking real world automotive knowledge and turning it into learning that pupils can understand, enjoy and take pride in.

You’ll:

What You’ll Bring

You could already be working as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic or within another relevant automotive role and be ready for a career where you can pass your experience on to the next generation.

We’re looking for someone with:

• The patience and adaptability to work with young people with different needs and abilities
• The confidence to create structured and engaging learning experiencesA positive approach to building relationships and encouraging young people

• A UK driving licence

UK QTS is desirable but not essential, and relevant industry experience is warmly welcomed.
