Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. seeks a Senior Manager to lead VAT risk governance across multi-jurisdictional operations. The role combines deep VAT expertise with hands-on design and ongoing improvement of risk frameworks and assurance programmes.

You will work with tax, operations, internal audit, and risk teams to embed controls and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. The position requires extensive VAT advisory experience, leadership of cross-functional teams, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Extensive VAT advisory experience with governance frameworks and de-risking
• Ability to interpret complex VAT legislation and translate requirements into scalable controls
• Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams and aligning policy with operations
• Experience managing cross-border VAT risks in multi-jurisdictional environments
• Background in large, regulated organisations with high-volume transactions
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of VAT risk and assurance frameworks
• Oversee assurance activities, guiding analysts in data collection and evaluation of controls
• Critically review VAT requirements prior to rollout to identify gaps or conflicts
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to embed controls and process improvements
• Challenge operational readiness for new controls, review UAT outcomes and SOPs
• Report VAT risk exposure and remediation progress to senior leadership with actionable recommendations
• Maintain a dynamic VAT assurance programme aligned with regulatory changes
• Support integration of VAT risk into regulatory changes and strategic initiatives
