Job summary

Amazon’s Accounting department is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the VAT Account Health team across 12+ countries. You will drive global strategies, influence senior leadership, and establish cross-functional governance structures to improve VAT health and controllership.

You will work with Tax, Accounting, Finance Operations, and FinTech stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements while navigating competing priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
• Knowledge of general AI tools.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
• 5+ years program management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead global programs to improve VAT account health and set VP-level goals and KPIs.
• Drive cross-functional working groups across Accounting, Indirect Tax, Finance Operations, and FinTech.
• Develop and implement SOPs for VAT account management across global teams.
• Build governance structures to ensure clear accountability and faster decision-making.
• Identify risks and provide actionable recommendations for resolution or mitigation.
• Align priorities across time zones and business units through influence and escalation.
• Develop data-driven reporting and dashboards for leadership decision-making.
• Lead root-cause analyses of reconciling items and address systemic defects.
• Create programme mechanisms (weekly updates, leadership reviews) to drive engagement.
• Manage program transitions and stabilization, diagnosing friction points and implementing practical solutions.
