Pure Search is seeking an experienced VAT Risk & Governance Lead to shape and enhance the VAT risk and control framework across a complex, multi-jurisdictional business. Based in London, you will partner with Tax, Risk, Internal Audit and Finance to ensure robust VAT processes, controls and governance frameworks across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in VAT advisory, VAT risk management, governance or tax controls.
• Strong technical understanding of VAT legislation and its practical application within large, complex organisations.
• Experience designing and implementing VAT control frameworks and assurance programmes.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of VAT risk, governance and assurance frameworks.
• Design, implement and monitor VAT controls to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, control testing and assurance reviews across multiple jurisdictions.
• Identify VAT risks, control weaknesses and process gaps, driving remediation plans.
• Partner with Tax, Finance, Audit, Risk and Operations to embed VAT governance into business processes.
• Provide reporting and insight on VAT risk exposure, assurance outcomes and key control metrics.
• Support transformation, systems implementations and regulatory change projects from a VAT risk perspective.
• Drive ongoing enhancement of VAT governance programmes in response to changes in legislation, technology and operations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced VAT Risk & Governance Lead to join a leading international organisation. This is a highly visible role with responsibility for shaping and enhancing the VAT risk and control framework across a complex, multi-jurisdictional business.

Working at the heart of the tax function, you will partner with teams across Tax, Risk, Internal Audit, Finance and the wider business to ensure VAT processes, controls and governance frameworks remain robust, scalable and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of VAT risk, governance and assurance frameworks.

About You

• Significant experience in VAT advisory, VAT risk management, governance or tax controls.

• Proven ability to translate technical tax requirements into effective operational processes and controls.
