You will work closely with the Real Estate VAT Director and Partner to support clients on a wide range of Real Estate and construction matters. One day you could be advising an investor on a multi-million pound property acquisition, and the next day delivering training to finance and commercial teams at a housebuilder client. No two days are the same!

Responsibilities:

1. Manging client relationships and acting as the principal point of contact for clients regarding VAT issues and queries.
2. Delivering practical and commercial VAT advice to clients on land and property matters.
3. Collaborating with the wider Real Estate tax specialists to provide VAT input into tax structuring and Real Estate tax due diligence projects.
4. Developing junior team members, including delegation of appropriate work, on-the-job coaching, and formal feedback.
5. Assisting in business development alongside the Real Estate VAT Director and Partner, including proposal preparation and building client relationships.

About the ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience at Manager or Associate Director level within VAT, with a proven ability to win work or unlock fees from existing clients. You should be confident in developing junior staff and fostering a positive team environment. Key qualities include:

• CTA qualification preferred or equivalent.
• Experience operating at Associate Director level (or equivalent), or demonstrating the necessary skill set.
• Strong knowledge of VAT issues in the Real Estate and Construction sectors, either in a specialist role or as part of a broader role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a national team.
• Proven client handling and relationship-building skills.
• Strong coaching abilities and an inclusive approach to people development.
• Business development experience or interest is advantageous but not essential.
