Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust in Wakefield is seeking a Consultant Radiologist to join the Interventional Radiology team at Pinderfields Hospital. The post supports arterial angioplasty, vascular access, nephrostomy, biopsy, and drainage, with on-call duties in non-vascular interventional work.

The role includes reporting vascular MRI/CT and contributing to MDTs, with essential radiology and GMC qualifications and subspecialty vascular expertise.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Radiology or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
• Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
• FRCR or equivalent.
• Subspecialty training and experience in Vascular Imaging/intervention post FRCR 2B.
• Experience in general cross-sectional reporting.

Responsibilities

• Complement the Interventional Radiology team to deliver a sustainable service across diagnostic subspecialties.
• Support and enable procedures such as arterial angioplasty +/- stenting, vascular access, nephrostomy, biopsy and drainage.
• Report specialist vascular MRI, CT and ideally cardiac CT.
• Attend weekly vascular MDT with radiologists and surgeons.
• Contribute to general radiology workload including acute CT.
• Participation in non-vascular interventional on-call rota (1 in 8).
