Job summary

Stanmore College is seeking a Variable Hours Lecturer in Engineering to deliver high-quality teaching across engineering programmes, adapt lessons and resources, and support learners to progress and gain qualifications.

The role offers flexible hours, opportunities to develop industry links, participate in assessments and college activities, and uphold safeguarding and health and safety responsibilities. Salary £21.77–£33.90 per hour, closing date 12 October 2026.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across relevant Engineering programmes.
• Plan and adapt engaging lessons, resources and assessment materials to meet the needs of learners.
• Support learners to make progress, achieve their qualifications and develop their skills for further study or employment.
• Maintain accurate course and assessment records and contribute to quality assurance, standardisation and verification processes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and the review and improvement of programmes within Engineering and Built Environment.
• Keep your industry knowledge and professional skills up to date, developing links with employers and industry professionals where appropriate.
• Participate in learner inductions, course reviews, team meetings and relevant College activities.
• Contribute to recruitment, promotional and open-day activities where required.
• Support a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment and uphold the College's safeguarding, equality, diversity and health and safety responsibilities.
