Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking an experienced Van Technician for a busy service centre in Gillingham, Kent. The role offers stability, career development and competitive remuneration within a franchised dealership.

You will diagnose and repair light commercial vehicles, attend manufacturer training and contribute to customer satisfaction while adhering to health and safety standards. Substantial earning potential and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Strong communication skills and customer‑focused attitude.
• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, preferably with light commercial vehicles (LCV).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical diagnostics and repairs on light commercial vehicles.
• Complete vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Maintain high levels of technical expertise through manufacturer training programmes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
• Assist in achieving customer satisfaction and dealership productivity targets as a Van Technician.
• Uphold manufacturer and company quality procedures at all times.

Duties of a Van Technician

• Provide technical diagnostics and repairs on light commercial vehicles
• Complete vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs to manufacturer standards

Requirements of a Van Technician

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in vehicle maintenance and repair
• Full UK driving licence
• Proven experience working as a Vehicle Technician, preferably with light commercial vehicles (LCV)
• MOT Tester qualification desirable but not essential
• Strong communication skills and customer‑focused attitude
• Prior experience within a franchised dealership environment is advantageous
