Job summary

PlanetRecruitment is seeking a Van Driver / Removals role in Abingdon. You will deliver goods across the South, interact with customers face-to-face and over the phone, and work from 7am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. The position may include overnight stays for international and long-haul routes.

Applicants should hold a Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points. Experience with Sprinter-sized vans is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods across the South and liaise with customers on-site and by phone.
• Ensure operational activities like unloading, storing, picking and loading are carried out professionally.
• Load/unload company equipment from the van and maintain vehicle safety checks.
• Keep vehicles clean and stocked with consumables; work to the daily schedule and avoid repeat site visits.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries to sites.
• Maintain safe driving practices and complete daily roadworthiness checks.

Our client is looking for an energetic and motivated Van driver to join their team delivering goods to their customers ensuring that every project is completed to the highest standards.

The Role;

You will be required to deliver goods across the South. You will be required to work with customers face to face and over the telephone ensuring the highest standards are met at all times. Wokring hours are generally from 7am through to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Hours potentially can vary dependent on different drops and routes. This role does include over night stays for international and long haul routes.

• Liaise with Logistics Manager, Company owners and colleagues to ensure each project is completed to the highest standards
• Ensure all operational activities such as unloading, storing, picking and loading, including heavy lifting ofcompany items arecompleted in a timely and professional manner.
• Loading and unloadingcompany equipmenton and off the Van
• Understanding the daily schedule to maximise efficiency and minimise repeat visits to sites
• Liaising with Warehouse teams to ensure deliveries are made to site in a timely manner
• Ensure vehicles are in a safe condition, with daily road worthiness checks correctly completed before use, and are operated in a safe manner
• Proactively take responsibility for keeping vehicles clean and tidy
• Maintain stock levels of consumable items on van

Applicantsshould have some knowledge of driving Sprinter sized vans.

The role is not a multi-drop position.

About you;

Applicants should have a Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points. Knowledge of driving a sprinter sized van would be advantageous as well as dealing with customers on a face to face basis.

Manual handling of heavy items will be required on a daily basisso a good level of physical fitness is required.

Flexibility towards working hours as well as being able to use hand tools would be advantageous.
