Job summary

Greencore Group in Carmarthen is seeking a Driver to join our depot team. You will start a 3am shift pattern, five days per week including mandatory Saturdays, delivering fresh stock to retailers and forecourts across the region.

Training is provided, with opportunities to progress within a fast-moving national business. You will load orders, check delivery notes, and ensure safe, efficient deliveries while complying with health and safety rules and driving laws.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving license for at least six months with a maximum of 6 points.
• Van driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load customer orders from Warehouse to your Van.
• Ensure all orders are correct with delivery notes.
• Deliver customer orders in the correct manner.

Job description

Shift Times: 3am Start Time

Shift Pattern: Monday to Saturday with a rolling rest day

Pay Rate: £13.60 per hour (+ £1.15 for any hours worked between 10pm and 6am)

Overtime: Premiums are payable after 42 hours at time and a quarter

Workload: On average between 20-30 drops per day

All routes are planned in at 8 to 12 hours long.

Carmarthen:

A distribution depot serving convenience retailers and forecourts in the region. The depot operates a fleet of 14 vehicles on 12 routes.

What you'll be doing:

From the simple sandwich to a range of chilled foods, our customers need fresh stock daily and you could be part of our nationwide team making some of those 3.5 million deliveries each year and keeping Britain fed. You would be expected to work five days per week, which would include mandatory Saturdays. With this shift pattern there will be no Sunday work and working day off as well on rotation. On‑the‑job training is provided and you will be partnered up with another team member to start with. Full training will be provided if successful in this role but are looking for the following knowledge and experience :

• Loading Customer orders from Warehouse to your Van
• Ensuring all orders correct with delivery notes
• Delivering customer order in correct manner
• Following Health and safety and driving laws
• Ensuring all trays are stacked neatly in van and empty tray from customers
• Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in vans/areas at all times
• Ensuring all PPE issued is worn at all times

Being great with people is essential. In fact, this is the first thing we look for when we recruit a Greencore driver. Of course, you also need to have a full UK driving license held for at least six months with a maximum of 6 points. Van driving experience is preferred.
