Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Van Driver for a leading independent Builders' Merchant at their Hexham branch. The role involves delivering building materials and assisting in the warehouse, with a focus on reliability and professionalism.

Shift is Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00, at £13.00 per hour. Benefits include weekly pay, online payslips, 28 days annual leave pro-rata, and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B) is required.
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries or commercial driving is highly preferred.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials, timber and plumbing supplies to trade and residential sites using a 3.5t van.
• Assist in the warehouse with loading, unloading, and serving customers when not out on deliveries.
• Conduct daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintain records.
• Present a professional and helpful face of the company at the point of delivery.

The Best Connection is currently seeking a Van Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant, based at their Hexham branch.

This is a temporary ongoing position; however, there is regular work available for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and professionalism.

The Role:

• Delivering building materials, timber, and plumbing supplies to trade and residential sites using a 3.5t transit-style van.
• Assisting in the warehouse with loading, unloading, and serving customers when not out on deliveries.
• Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining accurate records.
• Acting as a professional and helpful face of the company at the point of delivery.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:00.
• Hourly Rate: £13.00 per hour

Requirements:

• Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B).
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries or commercial driving is highly preferred.
• A "can-do" attitude with the physical fitness to handle heavy building materials.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is a significant advantage.
