Job summary

LBS Builders Merchants in Aberystwyth is seeking a reliable and customer focused Van Driver to join our busy team. You’ll deliver to customer sites and support branch operations. The role requires a valid UK driving licence and a professional, safety minded approach.

Hours are about 40.75 per week, Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday mornings; pay is at National Minimum Wage. This is a friendly, field‑based role with opportunities for training and career progression within a customer‑driven

Qualifications

• Must have a valid UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving or delivery experience preferred.
• Professional, polite and helpful attitude with customers.
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy and customer care.
• Willingness to assist in yard/warehouse when not driving.
• Forklift licence desirable or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain records.
• Safely load, secure and unload goods.
• Deliver products to customer sites professionally and efficiently.
• Assist customers and provide product support.
• Support branch team with deliveries, customer service and stock control.
• Follow health & safety, driving and company procedures.

Location: Aberystwyth We’re on the lookout for a reliable and customer focused Van Driver to join our busy and friendly team at our Aberystwyth Branch. If you’re an experienced driver who takes pride in delivering excellent service and working as part of a team, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Van Driver, you'll play a key role in our delivery operations — safely transporting goods to customers while ensuring excellent service and maintaining high standards on and off the road. When not driving, you'll also support branch and yard operations to help everything run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records.
• Safely load, secure and unload goods.
• Deliver products professionally and efficiently to customer sites.
• Assist customers and provide product support when required.
• Support the branch team in preparing deliveries, serving customers, and managing stock.
• Follow all health & safety, driving, and company procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• A valid UK driving licence.
• Previous van driving or delivery experience (preferred).
• A professional, polite, and helpful attitude with customers.
• A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer care.
• Willingness to assist in the yard and warehouse when not driving.
• Forklift licence (desirable, or willingness to train).

Hours of Work: An average of 40.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7.30am - 4.30pm, plus every other Saturday morning from 8.00am until 12.00pm.
