Job summary

SGS UK Ltd is seeking a Valve Technician to inspect, maintain, repair and certify valves, actuators, and related pressure systems across customer sites and the Immingham workshop. The role focuses on safe operation and compliance across diverse industrial sectors, with a strong emphasis on mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.

You will work both in our workshop and on customer sites, performing testing, calibration, and certification in line with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with valves, pipework, pressure systems, pumps, actuators or related mechanical equipment.
• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant practical engineering experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, overhaul and certify valves, actuators and related equipment.
• Carry out repairs, testing and calibration to meet standards and customer requirements.
• Work on equipment including pressure relief valves, safety valves, control valves and pumps.
• Deliver high-quality work in workshop and on customer sites.
