Job summary

Assystem in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Valve Engineering to support the Hinkley Point C project within the Joint Design Office. You will ensure designs are compliant, constructible, and fit for operation in a nuclear environment.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will review specifications, manage valve-related queries, and collaborate with system engineers and suppliers to deliver robust valve solutions on schedule while maintaining safety standards and

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
• Experience across the valve lifecycle from specification to commissioning.
• Background in highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Energy, or Defence.
• Fluent in English, with strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical clarification on valve deliverables for construction, coordinating with Back Office design teams.
• Review input data, design assumptions, technical specifications and supplier deliverables.
• Assess valve design against project requirements, nuclear codes and standards.
• Lead valve engineering assessments: functional reviews, operational requirements, modifications.
