Job description

Valuation Senior Analyst - Private Credit

Reporting to the Vice President, Fund Finance – Valuation Analytics, the Senior Analyst will assist with valuation analysis on a portfolio of investments, including but not limited to co-investments, fund investments, and direct positions. The role will form an integral part of the overall valuations process and the candidate will work closely with the Pantheon Valuation Committee (“PVC”), the Fund Finance Team, the Investment Team, and the Portfolio Data & Fund Valuations Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing team outputs on General Partners, directly valued co-investments for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Providing valuation technical support (including industry trends and regulations) and resolving ad-hoc queries from the PVC and other Pantheon Teams.
  • Preparing team outputs by ensuring NAV accuracy especially for the evergreen strategies.
  • Assisting with development and implementation of valuation processes for new strategies, build efficiencies and focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to the team deliverables and performance.
  • Providing support and analysis to external audit teams and assisting with the management of the annual audits relating to valuations.
  • Contributing to timely and accurate delivery of PVC materials (valuation of directs and co-investments, and the monthly valuations for Pantheon’s regulated investment funds) and attendance at PVC meetings to provide input.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and Pantheon policy (including reporting compliance risks and maintaining appropriate standards of conduct).

Knowledge and Experience:

  • A degree with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis preferred.
  • A Level Maths or equivalent is essential.
  • Progress towards CFA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent designation.
  • Experience with valuation and operational aspects of servicing semi-liquid funds preferred.
  • Private capital valuation knowledge is essential, experience with private credit and income funds.
  • Strong understanding of valuation methodologies (DCF, market multiples, precedent transactions etc) including good understanding of best practice valuation techniques under IPEV / IFRS / US GAAP for level 3 securities.
  • Valuation, investment, analytics, accounting, auditing and data experience is preferred, especially relating to private funds/ illiquid investments and/or company valuations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), organisational, interpersonal, and teaming skills.
  • Strong knowledge of software packages including Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Experience of working in a busy team with tight deadlines, collaborative with regards to the team deliverables.
