Hawk Hiring is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician for a premier independent garage in Coventry that specializes in Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Škoda and Cupra. This role offers a balanced schedule with no weekends and a competitive salary (£35,000–£45,000) plus a performance bonus.

You will work with modern dealer-level diagnostics (ODIS) and specialist VAG tools in a tidy, well-equipped workshop. Career progression and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic fault-finding talent and tool confidence.
• Experience working with VAG vehicles in a main dealer or independent workshop.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and VHC inspections across VAG models.
• Execute complex mechanical and electrical repairs including engines, belts, clutches, and suspension.
• Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic systems (ODIS) and root-cause analysis.
• Carry out pre-MOT inspections and high-standard vehicle prep work.
• Maintain clear electronic job records and uphold first-time-right quality.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Proven track record working as a Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, or VAG Specialist within a main dealer or independent garage environment
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served equivalent)
• Technical Capability: Strong diagnostic fault-finding talent, complete tool confidence, and high attention to detail
• Mindset: Quality-focused professional who takes genuine pride in clean craftsmanship
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
