Job summary

Principle HR is seeking a Senior UX / Product Designer for a 10-month contract in central London. This isn’t consumer app design; you’ll shape complex, data-dense tools used at global scale, owning end-to-end design from real needs to built journeys and prototypes.

You’ll work with UX researchers, collaborate with product and engineering, and help grow the design system so decisions are reusable. Hybrid work with 3 days on-site; Inside IR35, PAYE; salary up to £88,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in UX, product or interaction design for complex tools.
• Deep expertise in Figma and design systems.

Senior UX / Product Designer - Contract | Central London

A rare contract -PAYE seat has opened on the design team behind advertising and monetisation products used by businesses at global scale. £88,000 - and the work earns it.

This isn't consumer app design. You'll be shaping complex, data-dense tools, the kind where the craft isn't in making things look pretty, it's in making something genuinely intricate feel obvious. Small senior team, one seat, and a high bar for who fills it.

What you'll be doing

• Owning design end to end - turning real, messy user needs into clear journeys, mock-ups and prototypes that actually get built.


• Working closely with UX researchers to design for what users need, not what we assume they need.


• Sitting shoulder to shoulder with product and engineering, staying in the detail so what ships is what you drew.


• Helping the design system grow, so good decisions get made once and reused.


• Designing across both desktop and mobile.

What you'll bring

• 4-6 years in UX, product or interaction design, on complex or enterprise-grade tools rather than purely consumer work.


• Real depth in Figma - it's where you'll live.


• A portfolio that shows your thinking, not just your screens. Strong complex-tooling work from any domain counts; it needn't be advertising.


• Systems thinking, and the knack for explaining a thorny problem - and your way through it - so designers and non-designers both follow you.


• A working command of user-research practices.


• A degree in design, UX or a related product field.
