Job Title: Meter Installation Technician

The Meter Installation Technician is responsible for installing meters at utility locations, managing daily work schedules, handling meter inventory, and working with utility personnel and customers. This role involves outdoor work with high public interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Remove old electric meters and install new meters for residential and commercial properties.
2. Perform meter change-outs following specified procedures.
3. Operate within a Work Order Management system.
4. Manage inventory of meters.
5. Collaborate with utility personnel and customers.
6. Responsible for the proper use of a company vehicle.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening clearance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
• Computer skills including operation of PCs, mobile applications, email, and navigation systems.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight for 4-5 weeks as needed.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual acuity including close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, handle objects, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Work Requirements:

• Experience in electrical or utility line work is required.
• On-the-job training and supervision will be provided.
• Travel and overnight stays are required.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 1st shift hours.
