Job summary

Premier foods is seeking a Utilities Technician at the Ambrosia Creamery site in Lifton, Devon. The role involves operating, monitoring and maintaining boilers, refrigeration, and other utilities to support continuous manufacturing.

You will work a 42-hour week (4 on, 4 off) on rotating days and nights, reporting to the Site Services Manager. Experience with industrial plant upkeep and a strong safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering/maintenance or utilities experience on industrial plant.
• Hands-on experience operating, maintaining or fault-finding on industrial plant.
• Able to work in a 24/7 shift environment; independent and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment and effluent systems.
• Complete routine plant checks, sampling, meter readings and records.
• Carry out planned maintenance, first-line repairs and fault-finding.
• Respond to alarms, breakdowns and interruptions to utilities services.
• Identify defects and emerging risks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, compliance and shift-handover records.
• Support statutory inspections and contractor work.
• Help improve plant reliability, energy efficiency and operating costs.
