Faversham Medical Practice is seeking an Urgent Treatment Centre Clinical and Operations Manager to lead our UTC team. The role covers clinical and operational leadership, governance, and development of services at the UTC base in Faversham.
The successful candidate will oversee safe patient care, implement audits, manage staffing rosters and liaise with GPs and management to deliver strategic priorities. An independent prescribing qualification is beneficial but not essential.

We are looking for the lead for ourfriendly and supportive team at Faversham Urgent Treatment Centre. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running and futuredevelopment of our thriving UTC service.
The UTC has access to X-ray and point ofcare testing. The UTC team has 13 practitioners, supported by GPs and HCAs.
The UTC is open 7 days a week 8am to8pm. This position requires working some Bank Holidays, regular Saturdays andSundays, evenings and other cover when needed.
An independent prescribingqualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
Staff working out of hours will receive an unsocial hours addition. This is paidat additional 30% rate for working on a Saturday and additional 60% rate forworking on a Sunday or Bank Holiday, during contracted hours.
We also give a prescribingpremium of £3,000 gross per annum to FTE UCPs that have successfully passedthe prescribing qualification and have become independent prescribers, payableover 12 months. This is pro-rata for part-timeUCPs.
A standard Disclosure and BarringService check will be carried out as part of our recruitmentprocedures and also regularly during employment. The responsibility for payment of this lieswith the Practice.

Work withthe Infection Control Lead to ensure all standards are met
Work withthe management team and lead on development of current and new servicesrelevant to the UTC and practice
Work withthe management/administration team on the recording and attainment of QOFstandards
Work withthe management/administration team on the achievement of Enhanced Servicesrelevant to the Urgent Care Practitioners team
EnsurePatient Group Directives (PGDs) are read, signed and used appropriately
Take partin the development of PGDs as required
Undertakeand lead on prescribing and other clinically relevant audits for theclinical team
Keep up todate with CQC requirements and inform the Urgent Care Practitioners teamof any changes as relevant
Ensure anadequate system of peer review/clinical audit is undertaken within theteam to monitor and maintain clinical standards
Create andsubmit quality and contractual compliance reports required bycommissioners
ManageUrgent Care Practitioners rota and to maintain adequate staffing levels
Carry outthe Urgent Care Practitioners teams annual appraisals and reviews,including 6 monthly reviews
Review andapprove training requests from the UCP team in collaboration with themanagement team and GP lead for HR
Identifytraining requirements within the Urgent Care Practitioners team
Carry outback to work interviews after episodes of sick leave
Deal with requestsfor annual leave/TOIL/time off for other reasons, authorising or rejectingany requests in line with the Staff Handbook and in discussion with the HRManager as appropriate.
Sign offovertime requests
Deal withchange of hours requests in conjunction with the Business and HR Managers
Carry outexit interviews with the HR Manager
Deal withgeneral day-to-day queries from members of the UTC team
Take partin UCP/UTC meetings
Responsiblefor cross line management when another line manager is absent.

Identifyingthe risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in away that manages those risks across clinical and patient process
Makingeffective use of training to update knowledge and skills, and initiate andmanage the training of others across the full range of infection controland patient processes
Monitoringpractice facilities and equipment in relation to infection control,ensuring that provision of hand cleansing facilities, wipes etc aresufficient to ensure a good clinical working environment. Lack offacilities to be escalated as appropriate
Safemanagement of sharps procedures including training, use, storage anddisposal
