Role Title: Creative Technologist / User Experience Engineer
Location: London, UK (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Responsibilities:
- UX project planning and execution, including participating in or leading project meetings with stakeholders to provide technical input and inform project decisions on user experience development.
- User experience engineering: Implement, develop, and update the user interface by developing and writing code.
- Design implementation: Support or influence the user experience for a product by developing and iterating concepts, providing technical input, and engaging relevant stakeholders.
- Creating artifacts for consensus building: Develop design documents and specifications to establish consensus among team members and stakeholders.
- UX problem analysis: Identify and analyze potential user experience and technical issues, anticipating risks and obstacles.
- Configure, implement, and update computational design features through coding.
- Act as a technical liaison between engineers and designers.
- Contribute to or manage projects by integrating user interface components and developing new component systems.
- Evaluate the potential and feasibility of new technology, providing feedback to stakeholders.
- Develop solutions to enable team members to design, execute, or communicate more efficiently.
Skills:
- Proficiency in designing, writing, testing, and maintaining software applications using relevant programming languages.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Knowledge of industry trends, product areas, and market developments affecting the company's operations.
- Understanding of design principles, tools, standards, and accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
- Ability to craft compelling stories with data to influence and inspire audiences.
- Empathy and understanding of human behavior related to usability and design.
- Proficiency in developing prototypes and documenting technical specifications clearly.
- Knowledge of product development processes, roles, and responsibilities.
- Strong meeting management skills, including setting agendas, driving discussions, and following up on action items.
- Ability to analyze systems and consider broader organizational impacts.
- Technical knowledge of UX platforms (Android, iOS, web) and performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills to influence and gather consensus using data and storytelling techniques.
