Birchrose Associates, a leading global law firm, seeks a Conflicts Advisor with strong US conflicts knowledge to join its London Risk team on a permanent basis.

You will assess new matters for conflicts, apply US professional conduct principles, draft waivers, and advise senior lawyers on confidentiality and sanctions issues, with hybrid working. The role involves international matters and collaboration with risk specialists.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of US conflicts principles
  • At least 3 years' previous experience in a conflicts, risk, legal ethics or related professional services role

Responsibilities

  • Assessing new business requests and identifying potential conflicts before work is accepted
  • Applying US professional conduct principles when reviewing client and matter relationships
  • Preparing appropriate waiver documentation where conflicts can be addressed through informed consent
  • Providing guidance on more complex US-related conflicts queries and supporting colleagues with technical issues
  • Undertaking detailed background research to help determine whether new instructions can proceed
  • Advising senior lawyers on potential confidentiality, independence and information-sharing concerns
  • Considering wider issues which may affect whether the firm should act, including sanctions, reputational concerns and financial crime risk
  • Working alongside Financial Crime and other Risk specialists on more sensitive or complex matters
  • Helping improve internal conflicts procedures, technology and ways of working

Our client, a highly regarded global law firm, is seeking a Conflicts Advisor with strong US conflicts knowledge to join its London Risk team on a permanent basis.

Our client is a major international law firm with an established presence across the UK, US, Asia-Pacific and other key legal markets. The firm acts on sophisticated cross-border matters for an impressive client base and is particularly well known for complex disputes, regulatory work and high-value transactional matters.

The Opportunity

This is a standout opportunity for a conflicts professional with US regulatory knowledge to join an internationally integrated Risk function. The successful candidate will have regular contact with senior lawyers across the business and will play an important role in helping the firm assess and manage potential client and matter-related risk.

The role offers strong exposure to complex international work, particularly where US conflicts considerations form part of the wider risk analysis.

Requirements

At least 3 years' Previous experience in a conflicts, risk, legal ethics or related professional services role
