Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran invites applications for a Senior Charge Nurse within the Urology Theatre at University Hospital Ayr.

You will provide visible clinical and professional leadership, deliver safe, person-centred perioperative care, lead the theatre team to optimise resources and meet national performance targets, and support staff development. The post is a fixed-term, 12-month maternity cover, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC registered
• Experience within different specialties
• Able to deputise in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse
• Extensive experience within the speciality of Urology surgery

Responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical and professional leadership within the Urology Theatre service.
• Deliver safe, effective, person-centred perioperative care while maintaining high standards of governance and quality improvement.
• Lead the multidisciplinary theatre team to ensure efficient use of resources and achievement of performance targets.
• Work a flexible rota of four days over seven with on-call requirements.
