Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Senior Charge Nurse assistant for the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at University Hospital Crosshouse. The role covers bed holding areas 2A and 2B and involves providing administrative support to the senior charge nurse to ensure high-quality care.

You will work 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, in a permanent post with a focus on teamwork, communication, and efficient ward administration.

Qualifications

• You will be organised with excellent communication skills.
• You can demonstrate the ability to work well in a team.
• You have good knowledge of software packages and typing skills.
• Experience in a busy NHS environment and understanding of inter-disciplinary networks is advantageous.
• You can work unsupervised using your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the senior charge nurse to maintain ward visibility and care standards.
• Ensure effective communication within the ward team and support ward objectives.
• Assist in leadership of the ward through proactive administrative tasks.
