Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic Business Manager to lead operational delivery in the Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care services at Charing Cross Hospital. You will collaborate with senior clinical, nursing and corporate teams to drive performance, quality and patient experience.

You will provide strategic leadership, develop business cases, manage budgets and deliver service redesign with a strong focus on continuous improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Relevant first degree is required.
• Recognised management qualification at postgraduate level and/or experience.
• Experience of operational and staff management in the NHS.
• Budget management experience.
• Experience of dealing with conflict and remedial action.
• Experience of writing complex business and project plans with delivery evidence.
• Experience of cost reduction delivery.
• Knowledge of NHS contracting processes.
• Knowledge of national NHS policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational management and support delivery against Trust and national performance standards.
• Monitor activity, performance and service delivery, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
• Produce and present high-quality performance, activity and financial information to support decision-making.
• Support service planning, transformation and improvement, including business cases and service redesign.
• Manage delegated budgets and monitor financial performance with productivity programmes.
• Ensure robust governance, handling complaints, incidents, risks and improvement actions.
• Lead, manage and develop staff with effective workforce deployment and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with clinical, nursing, finance and corporate teams to deliver Directorate priorities.
• Support development and implementation of policies and improvement plans across the service.
