Job summary

Care4ocus in Chichester, West Sussex is seeking experienced Complex Care Support Workers to support an adult client at home following specialist respiratory rehabilitation.

You will work 12-hour day and night shifts in a 2:1 support arrangement, covering NIV management, hoist transfers, medication administration and personal care, in line with the care plan.

Clinical competencies and package-specific training will be provided before undertaking tasks.

Qualifications

• Complex care experience required.
• Respiratory/NIV experience essential.
• Hoist transfers and moving & handling experience preferred.
• Medication administration experience needed.
• Pressure area and wound care experience beneficial.
• Experience with neurological or neuromuscular conditions is advantageous.
• Person-centred approach with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care in the client’s home on a 12-hour day or night shift.
• Support with NIV management and use of NIV devices.
• Perform 2:1 transfers and assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Administer medications as directed and monitor for changes.
• Maintain dignity, independence and safety as priority.

Job description

We are urgently recruiting experienced Complex Care Support Workers / Healthcare Assistants to support an adult client returning home following specialist respiratory rehabilitation.

Location: Chichester, West Sussex

Setting: Client's own home

Package: Urgent discharge

Shifts: 12-hour days & 12-hour waking nights

2:1 support required for specific care activities

About the Package

The client has Pompe disease, a progressive neuromuscular condition with significant physical and respiratory needs. The successful carers will provide high-quality, person-centred support to enable the client to remain safely and independently at home.

Key Care Requirements

Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

• Non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
• Respiratory care and monitoring
• Assistance with applying/removing an NIV mask
• Prisma 40 NIV device
• Hoist transfers and moving & handling
• Two-carer transfers where required
• Pressure area care
• Sacral wound monitoring in line with the care plan
• Medication administration/support
• Full assistance with eating and drinking
• Personal care and activities of daily living
• Nutrition and hydration
• Positioning and comfort care

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for experienced and reliable care professionals who have:

• Complex care experience

Staffing
