Job summary

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Urgent Care Practitioner with experience in older people to join the Mental Health Liaison team. You will assess and treat patients attending the General Hospital and teach colleagues across the hospital.

You will work across urgent care teams, provide autonomous leadership, and support a 24/7 service pattern, including night shifts. A Golden Hello or Relocation Incentive may apply for Band 6 Nurses & Practitioners.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with RMN/LD/Adult registration and appropriate to the job role.
• Mentorship course or ENB equivalent completed.
• Evidence of CPD (continuous professional development).
• Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007) and MCA (2005) incl FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Undertake specialist mental health assessments and treatment for patients at the General Hospital.
• Deliver teaching sessions to general hospital colleagues and staff.
• Work across Urgent Care Teams (Mental Health Liaison Team and The Haven).
• Support 24/7 Urgent Care Pathway with shift work including nights.
