Job summary

PHL Group is seeking an experienced Clinical Manager for Sunderland UTC. You will lead the clinical team, drive clinical pathway development and mentor staff while maintaining high standards of patient care.

The role includes weekend work and management shifts, with autonomy in clinical decision-making. The successful candidate will have a nursing or paramedic background, an Advanced Clinical Practice PGCert and an independent prescribing qualification with substantial UTC/ED experience.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or paramedic with current registration and no restrictions to practice.
• Minimum PGCert level 7 in Advanced Clinical Practice and working towards post graduate diploma or MSc.
• At least six years of working full time post registration, ideally within a senior role.
• At least 2 years working within a UTC or ED as an autonomous practitioner.
• Independent prescribing qualification with at least 2 years post qualification.
• Significant minor injury and illness experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical team at Sunderland UTC and drive development of new clinical pathways and projects.
• Mentor and train newer staff; support weekend and busy periods during management shifts.
• Work clinically in the treatment room to lead by example and ensure high standards of care.
• Collaborate with UTC leadership to progress department improvements and service delivery.
