Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join the Unscheduled Care Assessment Team (UCAT) based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital.

We are seeking compassionate and committed nurses who demonstrate excellent team working skills, effective communication, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to manage their workload within a fast-paced and evolving service. Applicants must hold current NMC registration and have experience working within a mental health setting.

UCAT provides a 24-hour, 7-day service, working collaboratively with medical and multidisciplinary colleagues to respond to individuals presenting with urgent and unscheduled mental health care needs across Fife. As a Band 5 Nurse, you will work under the supervision and support of experienced Band 6 practitioners, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessment and management, and interventions for individuals experiencing mental health crisis.

The role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills within urgent care mental health services. As the service continues to evolve through ongoing redesign and transformation, the postholder will also support crisis follow-up activity and contribute to the development of new models of care aimed at improving outcomes and experiences for people accessing mental health services.
