Job summary

Foster + Partners is seeking an Urban Mobility Planner in London to shape masterplans and urban environments that enhance how people move and experience places. You will work within our Urban Design Group, combining transport expertise with creative problem-solving for international projects.

You will apply transport planning to complex urban challenges, collaborating across planning, landscape, design and research teams, and communicating results through engaging visual and analytical outputs.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning or mobility planning within a consultancy/engineering setting.
• Ability to apply transport planning theory to real urban challenges across international projects.
• Strong data gathering, impact assessment and solution development capabilities.

Description

As an Urban Mobility Planner at Foster + Partners, you will play a key role in shaping world-class masterplans and urban environments that enhance how people move, connect and experience places. Working within our interdisciplinary Urban Design Group, you'll combine technical transport expertise with creative problem-solving to deliver innovative mobility solutions that support sustainable, people-focused cities across a diverse range of international projects.

This role is ideal if you want to:

• Help shape the future of cities through innovative mobility and transport planning.
• Apply transport planning expertise to solve complex urban challenges across diverse international projects.
• Collaborate with experts across planning, landscape architecture, design and research.
• Combine technical analysis with creative and visual forms of communication.
• Influence sustainable transport strategies that improve how people move through and experience places.

What you will bring to the team:

• Experience within a transport consultancy, engineering firm or related mobility planning environment.
• Expertise in one of the following disciplines: transport engineering, development planning, strategic transport planning, behaviour change, or a combination of these disciplines
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather data, assess impacts and develop practical mobility solutions.
• Knowledge or experience of transport assessments, transport strategies, technical transport reports and presentations.
• Knowledge or experience in AutoCAD and an understanding of multimodal transport systems and infrastructure design principles.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive, organised and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
